I love you, Goodbye – Love and Letting Go Poem

Tears rushing down your cheeks asking why do I have to go
I said it’s something that if you can’t, then I must do.
People in pain, are cursing me bone marrow-deep
Wishing me chaotic thoughts and nightmares in my sleep

We would be endlessly thrown with hurtful words
piercing through us like daggers and swords
Someone might even be hoping, that I cease to exist
wanting to teach me a lesson, and put me to an ultimate test

But is loving you something that i should regret?
When even my heart completely refuse to fret
Its the best thing that ever happened to my whole damn life
and if they continue to Judge me, hate me, I don’t really mind.

I know, that is such a stubborn thing to say
That’s why while I can and while I may
I’ll be dragging my feet and try to walk away

Walk away—
not from you and not from our love
but from causing hurt to the people around us

We have no other choice but to wait for our own perfect time
Whether it comes or not, whether or not you become mine
It’s only distance that would keep us apart
I would continue to hold you closest to my heart

But for now I have to face the truth and try to get by

I’ve asked myself a million times how and why,
but still I could not come up with any answer.
I love you, simply because I do.
There are so many reasons why I should,
but still they aren’t really the answers as to why I love you.
I just really do.

When you came, everything changed.
My perspective, my whole life, my whole being.
Though our love came at the wrong time and at a wrong circumstance,
I just can’t help but love you more and more each passing day.

I wish it’s easy to let go, I know it’s the right thing to do…
but how can it be when it means letting go of everything that I am?
You mean more than anything and anyone to me,
in fact you mean everything to me now.

I don’t mind if people would keep on throwing shadows at me
…or think of me as a bad person
because I love you and I insist on having you in my life.
Our love may be wrong in other people’s eyes,
but nothing is purer and true than what I feel for you.

I won’t ever get tired of you and of saying, I love you.
I love you more than life and even love itself. I will always do.

I will just love you and give you everything that I can –
while I can and while you’re here.

So please just let me love you, because…

I’d rather love and let go, than let go of love.
