Seven Wonders of The World

Do you remember that time when there was a poll about the new “Seven Wonders of The World”? That was done because many countries requested for it to be changed since there are other places that can also be considered as one.

As a part of the voting process, young students all over the world were also asked to make a list of what they thought were the present “Seven Wonders of the World”.

Although there were a few divergences, the Egypt’s Great Pyramid, Taj Mahal, Grand Canyon, Panama Canal, Empire State Building, St. Peter’s Basilica and Great Wall of China, obtained the most votes.

There was one particular class where the teacher asked her students to do the same thing, in order to participate to the poll. The same results came up… most votes went to the above mentioned wonders of the world.

But, while she collecting the votes, the teacher noticed that one of her students had not finished with her list yet. So, the teacher asked the little girl if she’s having a difficulty to decide on what to write on her list.

The little girl answered, “Yes, a little. I could not quite make up my mind because there were so many wondrous things I could think of… but I have made-up a list of some of the most important ones so far…

The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have on your list, perhaps we can help.”

The little girl paused, then said, ” I think the ‘Seven Wonders of the World are:

1. To See
2. To Hear
3. To Touch
4. To Taste
5. To Feel
6. To Laugh
7. To Love

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly Wondrous! A gentle reminder – That the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.
