Grenade that explodes in your mouth — ever heard of such? Scary huh?!? Yeah there is such, if you have experienced eating the grenade fruit, widely known as Pomme Grenade — “pomegranate” or pomegrenate – etc.
Pomegranate has this thick outer layer with juicy pinkish seeds inside. It does not literally explode but it looks like a grenade ammunition — which may be the reason why it is called that way or vice versa. Sometimes it’s annoying to eat, because you have to separate the small portion of fruit flesh around the tiny seeds, and then spit out the seeds, but if you are bored and have nothing to do… eating it that way will work for you.
Grenade fruit or pomegranate takes a lot of chewing and if you’re not that patient, you may opt to eating and swallowing the seeds too, like I do most of the time. jkust be sure to drinka lot of water afterwards, or maybe eat something that would act as a laxative. If you cna imagine it, yeah that’s what I’m talking about. It’s just like eating guava fruit, if you’ve even tried it too.
Grenade fruit / pomegranate juice is also becoming popular in th market. I guess people got tired of having to eat the fruit that way. I guess it is also a brilliant idea, since grenade fruits are rich in certain vitamins and minerals.
