Silent Waters Run Deep
Christian is the most behave and quiet among all my other cousins. I think he’s the most intelligent among his siblings too. He’s the only one who really brought home awards from school, and is always a part of the honor student’s list. Mik2x as we fondly call him, is not someone who’d just pick a fight with anyone. He’s very patient and though he’s the introvert type, he has a good number of friends. People and teachers consider him as a really good kid and student. But to our great surprise, one day he came home looking really different. In his other hand was another award of being the most behave kid in school, but he had a bruise on the corner of his lips. He just went up the room, took a bath and changed his clothes. Then went down to watch TV like nothing happened. After awhile, a man came knocking in our door saying nasty things about my little cousin. It turned out that little Mikmik got into a fight with a school bully, who was obviously bigger than him, and very fat at that.
The kid’s dad came looking for a big kid, but all he saw was my skinny little geeky kid Mikmik saying, “I am Christian Sir! It’s out of my league to pick a fight, and definitely not with a loser kid like yours. Someone who’s weak and disguises himself as strong by bullying other kids at school. He’s been teasing me since third grade, but today he went too far that I’ve lost my patience, and he lost a tooth or two. He called me gay and hit me on my arm. He was trying to get me to fight with him and showed everyone that I’m a loser, and so I showed him I’m not. “So, what is it that you want from me then, good sir?”
I think that was a really brave thing to do. Truly, Silent waters do run deep. It takes a patient man a long time before they finally explode. But when they do, you’d surely get a total blast. So, beware!
