making it on my own
I’m the type of person who never runs out of anything to do. I guess I got used to it because I started working really early. Way back during my high school days, I already worked in different establishments, and at night I play with my band in resto-bars. That set-up went on until I was in college, I even applied for an extra job because I wanted to earn more. I stowed away from home, that’s why I needed to earn enough to send myself to school as well as to survive. I was just lucky that Jian’s parents kind of adopted me already, and I had a safe place to stay without having ti spend on rent or anything. But of course, I still worked for my education and personal money. Jian’s dad even teased me that I’m like an energizer bunny, he said he can’t imagine where I get all my energy from. He was even joking if I take energy pills or what, and I just smile at him. I told him, I just really need to do it for my own sake. I even accept projects as well as do my classmates’ thesis study just to make money. I didn’t fail, I got to finish school with that kind of set-up. I’m proud to say, I got to prove to my parents that I made it on my own.
