just a little something to think about
Lately, my dad has been saying something about buying out this small business of his colleague whose family is migrating to United Kingdom for good. I was wondering how much asset they have and if the business is still doing good. It’s hard to just jump into decision without having to think about the possible disadvantages and consequences. A friend is actually having this issue right now because of her parent’s being so impulsive. In our case, dad has been thinking about it, actually he is a part owner of the business now, so I guess he knows about the status of the business more than anyone. I think they have already done some Small business valuation process to determine the current value of the entire business. After the whole appraisal was done, instead of selling it to other interested business men, I think Uncle Fred would rather that it’s dad who would run the business. Uncle Fred said, he might come back in the future and still want to be a part of the company, so he would rather sell it to someone he trusts. The problem is my dad can’t really focus on it because he has other projects of his own. He was expecting that my brother Jay, who just recently graduated, may be able to help him out, but Jay already signed a contract with another company and he’s planning to take the board exam for Accountancy this coming May.
