Because of the metro-wide brownout, I’m blogging from my new laptop because the other one ran out of power. For some personal reason, I haven’t been using this particular laptop, which is a Mac. I know it’s rather weird, but I prefer using Iron over the new one despite the fact that this Macbook Pro my long time dream. I know I’m just being too emo and people would probably say, me and my far out reasons.
Iron, which is a Dell Inspiron, has been with me for about a year now. My brother has been asking me to give it to him since I already have the Mac that Jian bought for me. I think she’s even feeling bad because I thought of selling it. Just to be clear, she bought it for me but I insisted on paying her back, and after a long deliberation, she finally agreed. I know it’s something that means a lot to her, since it was supposed to be a gift. But, I think it’s way too expensive to be given just like that. I know most people would say, as long as it comes from the heart, or it’s the love and it’s not the money that counts. Love has no value, I know. Even the most expensive things could not match up or measure the intensity of love. But, for me the gift was way too much, I couldn’t take it for free. She felt kind of insulted at first, I know she’s bought it for me because she knew all along that it’s one of my dream gadgets. But, I explained it to her that it’s something that I wanted to buy for myself. I’ve been saving every penny for it, and the fulfillment of being able to reach that goal is different. It boosts not just one’s ego and pride, but also one’s confidence. It’s a way of saying, I thought I can’t but I was able to reach that goal. She understood my reasons and I’m glad she did. I guess, I’ll get the hang of using this new PC. Thanks Jian!
