On Medical Career Path

My next few entries will be about the hot new items on job sites right now, particularly the medical field. I know a lot of people who are sending their kids to school to become nurses or doctors. Here in the Philippines, it actually requires a lot to become a registered nurse or a licensed doctor, not to mention the ever increasing tuition fees. But, parents are dedicated to having their kids educated so they’ll have the chance to work overseas, in the hope that by doing so, they will have a brighter future and eventually migrate to another country. I can’t really blame people who seek for greener pastures given the kind of situation that this country is going through right now. With the low wage and crisis, who would want to stay? And right now, careers on the medical field are the quickest way to go abroad, either to the Middle East, Europe, Canada, and mostly dream to land a good job in North America.
With the current rising demand for medical workers all over the world, non-medical field professionals are shifting careers and consider going to school again and taking units and trainings to be qualified for the needed positions. I think not everyone who rush into borrowing money or selling their properties  just to send their kids to nursing or Med school realize that there are actually other choices of medical careers to choose from without having to spend as much. There are also courses offered that people don’t realize could be just as good as any other career and would give them an equal opportunity if they wish to work abroad.
