*since i was a kid, I’ve always had a passion for guitars and kept on dreaming of having my own one day. Both my parents knew how to play the guitar and each of them had their own… unfortunately both guitars got destroyed during a strong typhoon back in the island. So when i got to save enough to buy one, I went to a Custom Guitar Shop here in Cebu /\ where they make your guitar from scratch and based on your requested design.The worth of this baby in the local market ranges from PhP15-20K but soon as it’s displayed in Export and souvenir shops, the price would range from PhP18-22K. Since i had this one custom made by our fellow exporter (Ferangeli), I got a big discount!

Cebu is known for producing the finest guitars in the country, and the seat of guitar-making industry is in Mactan (particularly, Maribago, a Barangay of Opon, now Lapulapu City). Prices of Guitars depend on the materials, designs and how frugal you are. You could buy one for as low as PhP500-800 and still of good quality. You must buy it directly from the makers though, coz if you purchase it from the malls, the cheapest would range from PhP800-1K+. But if you don’t want to go to Lapu-lapu City, you can go to Lincoln St. near Carbon Market. Most old shops from way back “19-kupong kupong” are still existent.
